Foot Reflexology – Trained at the Seattle Institute of Reflexology

Reflexology is a science and an art that is based on the principle that there are microcosms (mini-maps) of the entire body mirrored on the feet, hands and ears.  Pressure applied to specific points on these microcosms helps to create balance within the body, soothing the nervous system, stimulating internal healing, improving circulation and reducing stress. What you can expect from this session: Reclined on a heated table with a pillow under your head, an eye bag over your eyes. Covered with a soft blanket. High quality Essential oils applied to your temples and the bottom of your feet. Each foot is massaged to awaken the awareness then gentle reflexology applied to each foot. Somewhere along the journey you will drift into what is referred to as zone heaven. That state between being asleep and being fully aware. It is the ultimate harmony.

How does it work?  ( Seattle Reflexology & Massage Center – not a direct quote)

*Through a subtle energy flow, zones in the feet and  through the nervous system.   Reflexology helps break up a substance that accumulates at nerve endings and assists in preventing and clearing venous stasis.

When the feet are out of balance, compensation patterns develop that compound over time throughout the body.  Natural realignment of bones in the feet corrects imbalances through over or under-stimulation of the reflexes, enabling natural healing to take place. The physical act of applying specific pressures using thumb, finger and hand techniques results in stress reduction that causes physiological changes in the body.  A primary benefit of reflexology is relaxation.  Relaxation through reflexology may help the body to balance the  stress it is experiencing.

Client feedback indicates many positive effects of this session including increased number of undisturbed hours of sleep at night.
